Research and Development Center
The R&D team consists of 36 research scientists. The department has labs for molecular biology, immunology, HPLC and animal tests.
The department is under the direct leadership of Xun He, the General Manager of the company. Xun He graduated from Tsinghua University and National University of Singapore. He is a member of the Bio-products committee under the Chinese Pharmacopeia.
The R&D team successfully developed EPO® (recombinant human erythropoietin) in 1996, making Kexing the No.1 producer of the product in China. The project was admitted into China's National Torch Plan, the country's key R&D project. It also won second-class prize of China's National Science & Technology Progress Award.
The team successfully developed Changkekang® (Combined Clostridium Butyricum and Bifidobacterium Capsules, Live) in 2001. The product was listed as one of key projects in China's 863 National Plan.
The recombinant human erythropoietin injection free of human albumin developed by the team won China patent in 2009. The product is suitable for patients allergic to human albumin.
Projects underway are:
- Clinical trial of EPO 10000IU/ml for RBC mobilization during perioperative period.
- Cooperation with famous biological pharmaceutical enterprise for development of long acting EPO and G-CSF. The Product has longer half-life in vivo compared with common EPO and G-CSF.
